It was reported that the Chicago Bears have targeted Brandon Marshall as their No. 1 wide receiver for 2010 season, not only because he was good in doing his job but also he an old friends of Jay Cutler. However, recent move in Denver may not support Bears’ plan.
The Denver Broncos just offered a first-round tender to Marshall on Wednesday, making it more difficult for Marshall to put on Bears jersey. The tender means that the Bears will have to send a first-round draft pick to the Broncos if they want to sign away Marshall, but the Broncos already own Bears’ first-round pick for 2010 for last year’s Cutler trade.
The Bears could make another trade with another team to get a first-round pick for Marshall, but that is unlikely to happen as there are still other options in the free market. It’s just not bad to sign the old version of Marshall, Terrell Owens, with a reasonable contract.
