Seahawks QB Hasselbeck practiced but was questionable for Sunday game

On Wednesday, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck took full part in the team’s practice, in an effort to accelerate his return from a broken rib. But it is still questionable if he would be able to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.

It was 17 days after Hasselbeck was hit high in the back by the San Francisco 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis on a dive for the goal line, and Hasselbeck was trying show that he could do everything possible to get out on the football field without question, although he still has to wear bulky rib pads throughout the practice.

It also showed that the Seahawks, who have lost three consecutive games, was desperate to save its season. They expect Hasselbeck to return as soon as possible and might be glad to see the quarterback be able to practice as Coach Jim Mora has set a goal of winning these two remaining games before the bye.

The climb is a a fundraiser for the Seattle charity United Way of King County. The group includes Goodell, Mora, three guides, the CEO and the chair of United Way of King County, Seahawks chief executive Tod Leiweke, plus a camera man from NFL Films and three others who earned their place on the team as major sponsors of the fundraiser. Nearly everyone made it to the summit of Washington's highest peak except for sponsorship member who got injured on elbow. No one wore jacksonville jaguars jersey while climbing.

The climb has raised about $380,000 for a special United Way campaign to provide food and housing and help getting government services and there will be a celebration at the base of the mountain for later Wednesday.
