Raiders’ last game of season was not sold out

Good beginning does not necessarily mean good ending. Although selling out the season opener against the San Diego Chargers, the Oakland Raiders did not play well enough to make the their last game of season the same popular as the first.

The Raiders’ season finale against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday will be blacked out locally as the team did not sell out the tickets. And that blackout will be the seventh of the season. The last time they had as many blackouts was in 1997. 72 hours before the kickoff, there was no extension, no more Raiders jerseys lover coming to buy ticket, meaning there will be blackout in a 75-mile radius.

The Raiders had sold out six of eight games each of the past three seasons after taking over ticket sales from Alameda County. And during their first 11 seasons in Oakland, the team only managed to sell out 25 of 88 regular-season games in time to avoid a blackout.
