Bears offensive coordinator Martz gets well with Cutler

The Chicago Bears new offensive coordinator compares quarterback Jay Cutler to one of his former pupils Kurt Warner who took off his Arizona Cardinals jersey to retire last month, saying that Cutler is not a tough player to coach and has his talent in football.

"I didn’t see Jay as being difficult to deal with at all," Martz told WSCR-AM. "I think elite players all have that in them—a sense of wanting to be perfect, wanting everything to be right, and if it’s not right they get frustrated. He’s got Kurt’s accuracy with a stronger arm. … You can’t put a fence around Jay and say, ‘This is what he is.’ There’s nothing that Jay can’t accomplish in the passing game."

The offensive coordinator also plans for some changes to the Bears’ offense. Wide receiver Devin Hester will see less time on offense in an effort to keep him fresh to return kicks; and Bears’ leading receiver, tight end Greg Olsen will be kept in as a blocker more often.
