As all parts of the 2009 season ended with the Super Bowl game on Feb. 7, the 2010 draft round begins. Here is some prediction of a player who has the potential to be an star in NFL jerseys. He is a tackle from Southern Cal, Charles Brown, who could be a fourth-round pick.
Brown has good height, long arms and athleticism, having shown the quickness to slide outside and cut-off speed rushers. He is able to slide well side-to-side to neutralize secondary pass-rush moves while still maintaining good balance and leverage in pass protection. He also works well with guard to neutralize line stunts has the ability to lockup on head-up defensive linemen on in-line run blocks and reach the second level to seal linebackers.
His disadvantage is lack of aggressiveness. He gets beaten more than he should as lacking of ideal buck makes him vulnerable to being jolted and driven backward by bull rushers. He also has difficulty in driving defensive linemen off the line. Brown always fails to get around shaded defensive lineman to make "reach" blocks and his bad habit of stopping shuffle after contact with speed rushers cause him to cross over and chase pass rusher around the corner frequently.
